i didn't think much of this song...but seeing it live, in person, right at the time Jeff broke into it, it felt like it was an opening song, that's how epic it was (maybe 5th song in the set). What a great song. Wilco have a lot of great songs post AGIB that hipsters overlook cause Jeff wasn't trying to kill himself LIVE with vicodin & Jay Bennett's severed penis in front of Jim O'Rourke's 8mm cameras..... Just saw them play this on Friday and the guitars from Nels and Pat were 10x better than this, it was truly unreal. Even Jeff paused in wondrous dismay at the end. This Salt Lake 10/20/23 if the bootleg ever comes out, check it out. The crowd went absolutely nuts.

Ok, this might be a hot take, but it makes me a little sad to see how they have Glenn Kotche, who is an INCREDIBLE drummer, playing this super simple rythms, like what a waste. You should definetly follow him on Instagram btw, he has a project in which he plays these really creative grooves in odd timings adding all sorts of “”things”” to his drumkit to make it sound different. The song is ok, i guess… I just miss the more experimental side of Wilco
